Dr. Tobias Bellmann is working as a scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) since 2007. After finishing his PhD in the field robot path-planning, he became head of a work group with focus on the topics motion simulation and virtual reality, working on methods for modelling, simulating and visualizing mechatronic systems.
Since 2025 he heads the department of flight control and simulation at the DLR institute of flight systems, focusing on the research of new control methods for highly agile aircraft and their simulation in non-standard simulator environments such as robot-based motion simulators. One focus of his department are Modelica based simulation tools, such as real-time visualization, optimization and FMI multi-agent simulation environments.
