Kids Panel: “Joyful Voices”
2024-11-16 , Bitcoin Para Ninos

A casual panel with four young guests (ages 8-13), designed especially for kids of a similar age. Friendly chats to cover fun topics like their favorite things (books, cartoons, hobbies, etc.), making friends, and discovering the world. The guests will also share their impressions of this year’s conference. The moderator will engage the audience to explore if they have similar experiences or observations. All together we well try to design a dream Bitcoin conference for younger audience.

Hermann Vivier is the co-founder of The Surfer Kids (est. 2010) and founder of Bitcoin Ekasi (est. 2021). Hermann first became interested in Bitcoin in late 2013 as a result of the banking crisis and subsequent bank bailouts in Cyprus. In May 2015 he and his wife adopted Bitcoin as a form of payment. They operate a South African tourism business (Unravel Surf Travel) catering for the Eastern European and Russian markets, and the first Russian-Ukrainian conflict meant that Bitcoin was (in certain cases) the only form of payment available to receive money from their clients. Following the global covid lockdowns and the resulting slump in their tourism business they started looking for ways to become more active in the Bitcoin space. Hermann came across the Bitcoin Beach project in El Salvador in 2019 and started writing for Bitcoin Magazine in January 2021, two events which eventually led to the creation of Bitcoin Ekasi in August 2021.

EconoKidz was created by Ian Foster and narrated by two of his sons, Theodore (10) and Max (8), collectively known as The TedMax. When the banks were bailed out in 2008 followed by endless money printing and interest rate manipulation ever since, Ian realised that even those in his own profession – an accountant with a degree in economics – were blind to the problem. So he set about creating EconoKidz to help children around the world have sufficient understanding of economics and money to avoid falling into the fiat and CBDC trap.

For the past ten years, Ian has lived in Malawi, Southern Africa, where he founded a company to help startups and small businesses strengthen their financial management and raise capital. He has been an advocate for bitcoin adoption in the country since 2014 and continues to support grassroots adoption and education through @BitcoinBoma.
