How Nostr is evolving into the medium for mass adoption of Bitcoin, particularly in its use as an actual monetary instrument rather than a store of value and the opportunities that provides.
Despite a rise in price and increase in tools making the use of Bitcoin more accessible, people are still turned away by all the "crypto" scams and don't see Bitcoin's true utility. Nostr has been growing in parallel to the Bitcoin movement and has actually been acting as a purple pill that makes the orange pill go down smoother. More and more, it has been seen that people come to Nostr because they are interested in contributing to the decentralized communication protocol (whether as a developer or creator), and that serves as their first introduction to the power of Bitcoin, very easily receiving sats for simply posting a meme, being vulnerable about their personal lives, or building out a new app. There are also more emergent use cases sprouting, from musicians being paid more in sats over Nostr than they ever make from Spotify streams to merchants who otherwise couldn't get set up online because of bank account or KYC requirements that can now sell their items to a global audience and not even have to download a wallet or know how Bitcoin works. As Nostr continues to grow and its power of interoperability begins to be realized, there will be more opportunities to introduce those who would have otherwise been opposed or unaware of Bitcoin to the freedom Bitcoin (and Nostr) provides.
