A session centered around the importance of minimizing classroom lectures and instead focusing on more holistic, multisensory teaching strategies that foster deeper, more permanent student learning.
Topics will include:
- How to make everyone in your classroom a teacher and a student (including you)
- Activity based learning as a model for moving up Bloom's Taxonomy
- Multisensory learning - don't teach to a learning style, integrate instead
- Tools for using class time for activity, not explanation
- Specific classroom activities that support better learning outcomes
The session will include fun demonstrations and participant activities to engage everyone in attendance. Session time (including time for activities) preferred at 45-60 minutes.
Hector is a Bitcoin educator with more than 15 years of experience in higher education as a professor, trainer, and business leader. He holds a Master of Information Technology degree from Capella University and serves as COO of Rhino Bitcoin, a Bitcoin only financial services company. Hector works with the team at Mi Primer Bitcoin as Curriculum Coordinator, and he also cohosts Bitcoin Is Life, a weekly X space highlighting the ordinary and extraordinary stories in Bitcoin. When he isn’t helping people learn how to improve their lives through Bitcoin, he’s playing and teaching pickleball around the courts of South Florida.
