Jason’s Bio
Jason is a world-traveling minimalism-adhering startup-entreprenuer & excessive-hyphen-user.
Plus a bitcoin-cultist.
He has had the great fortune to travel to all 7 continents and over 140 countries as a digital
nomad, long before the term entered the zeitgeist. And he’s done it all while simultaneously
co-founding multiple startups and notching 2 successful exits on his belt.
Jason emerged from a self-induced retirement in 2024 to help co-found Tando – an app that
aims to hyper-bitcoinize Africa, starting in Kenya, by making bitcoin as easy to spend as mobile
money, proving to the haters that Bitcoin is more than just a great Store of Value!

Sabina Waithira is the co-founder of Tando. Her journey into the Bitcoin space began as the
Content Manager for Bitcoin Dada, an initiative focused on educating African women about
Bitcoin. Through her work at Bitcoin Dada, Sabina gained valuable insights into the Bitcoin
ecosystem, which led her to participate in the 2023 Africa Bitcoin Conference Hackathon as part
of the team Splice. Splice, which won second place, provides payment infrastructure for
financial institutions and fintechs across Africa to execute real-time cross-border payments.
Inspired by the experience at Splice, Sabina co-founded Tando, where she now focuses on
revolutionizing Bitcoin’s use as a medium of exchange. With a deep passion for payment
solutions and empowering communities through Bitcoin in Africa, she continues to push
boundaries in the space.
