DESCRIPTION:New plugins were developed to integrate ImageJ in workflows cen
tered on the Virtual Observatory (VO) environment.\nIn the scope of Virtua
l European Solar and Planetary Access (VESPA) project\, a specific plug-in
has been developed to provide SAMP connection and receive images from oth
er VO tools.\nThis development also improves the support of fits files and
compressed formats in ImageJ.\nThe plugins were tested with recent versio
ns of ImageJ (v1.53t) and AstroImageJ (v5.1.3)\, which both required signi
ficant modifications with respect to previous versions. Since ImageJ resul
 t analysis can be of various types (image\, tables\, vectors\, spectra…)
\, no SAMP feedback connection has been installed at this point.\nThe new
SAMP connection to ImageJ will provide extended visualization (e.g.\, TIFF
format\, especially useful from search clients)\, conversion between vari
ous image formats\, and high level image processing functions to the VO.\n

2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 871149
