Mahmoud

Mahmoud is a bilingual, passionate, and determined human rights activist with over 10 years of experience at the forefront of personal rights, refugees’ rights, LGBTQ+ Rights, and social-economic rights activism in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). He cooperated with WITNESS for years in different projects before he joined the organization as the Programmatic Comms Coordinator, MENA in January 2022.

Before joining WITNESS, he worked to help disadvantaged individuals and communities find empowerment through working with natural leaders as well as regional and international organizations.

Mahmoud has received his B.A in Sociology from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. Additionally he earned his post-grad diploma in Non-Governmental Organizations Management from Cairo University’s Economic and Political Sciences School and his Master’s Degree in International Relations from Goldsmith, University of London in 2021.

Participants by the end of the session should have a good understanding of the limitations and the extensions that Media Manipulations can have on the work on human rights and should know more about some methods, and techniques to overcome challenges caused by these manipulations.
