Cyber: It doesn't need to be technical
, Track 1

A diverse skillset makes for effective teams, and this is also the case when it comes to Cyber. This talk shows how technical and non-technical people work together to tackle cyber crime across the globe, and why having people from all walks of life can help you succeed.

There is a common misconception that to work in cyber, you need to be a technical wizard. This talk uses the South West Regional Cyber Crime Unit as an example of a diverse team who work seamlessly together to tackle cyber crime. Walking you through a case study, it aims to debunk the myth that you need to be technical and highlight the importance of a range of skillsets in the cyber ecosystem.

The SWRCCU investigate cyber crimes affecting South West organisations. Our Cyber Protect Officers provide free and impartial cyber security guidance, workshops and resources to organisations of all sizes and sectors. This is a service offered both by ourselves and your local force's cyber crime unit.
