 otable incident from November 2023\, the ransomware group Alphv/BlackCat f
 iled a complaint with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) agai
 nst a victim who failed to disclose the data breach they caused. This inci
 dent may signal a potential shift towards hacking groups leveraging laws a
 nd regulations to pressure victims into making payments\, adding a new lay
 er to cyber threats.\nExploring the European landscape\, where the protect
 ion of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is paramount\, is it poss
 ible for penetration testers to leverage regulatory frameworks. By highlig
 hting the business and regulatory impacts that clients may suffer due to l
 ax security practices\, we aim to encourage better security adoption. Can
