In this session we’ll walk though that journey together and help you understand what is next on your path and how to prepare for the challenges ahead. Knowing your own “end game” and the many challenges you’ll face to get there.
Embark on your Hero’s Journey, regardless of your current “level.” Let’s map out a journey for you (the hero) that will take you from a simple moisture farmer to become one of the most powerful cybersecurity pros ever (metaphorically speaking). In this session we’ll look at the paths that lay ahead and how to better train, prepare and plan for you progress from Padawan to Master without going to the dark side, no matter where you are today.
We’ll cover the technical and leadership skills to develop, and you’ll understand how each will help you on your journey. This helps you to understand when it’s time to take the path to the left, right or straight ahead. We’ll discuss technical, generalist and leadership paths, and how to leverage your own Obi-Wan (Mentor(s)). Most importantly you’ll gain the knowledge of how to proactively prepare for your journey, so you are prepared for the obstacles and opportunities ahead. Having a map to where you want to go is always preferable to wandering around in the darkness.
These adventures are highly interactive, questions and engagement are welcomed.
Wil has worked in cybersecurity for more than 24 years. Most of that time working in consulting & managed security companies (MSP/MSSP/MDR), and value added resellers (VARs).
He’s lead most areas of the business from: pre-sales / solutioning, GTM, channel, innovation, service delivery, product management, service development, product marketing, and a C-Level strategist.
He has a broad skill set across most domains of cybersecurity. He is a partner & advisor to CISOs, CIOs & CEOs.
