I advocate, champion, and build security software at scale. This journey taught me the things software engineers find challenging when working with security counterparts and how to bridge the gap. These insights might be worth sharing with security friends. This is my experience, not my employer's.
I have been a software developer for 15 years and have worked in the security space since 2017. I have built security products at scale over the last few years. I work closely with various job roles, including Software engineers, Security engineers, Program and engineering managers. In addition, I am an enthusiastic security advocate and champion across multiple teams. During this journey, I learned a lot of things that software engineers dislike about dealing with their security counterparts. I also learned how we helped bridge the gap. I would like to share those insights with security professionals who are interested in learning more. My views are based on my own experience and not those of my employer.
