This workshop addresses the (critical) challenge of discerning accurate information from misinformation and fake news in the vast digital landscape.
Therefore it will provide an overview and hands-on experience in modern OSINT tools and demonstrate their practical application in real-life scenarios. To achieve this, a real life example will be conducted where the dissemination of misinformation had significant implications on both journalism and IT security.
This workshop will be held in an interactive format, featuring a presentation, live demonstration and if possible group discussions and practical exercises.
Target of this workshop are journalists, media professionals, cybersecurity analysts, researchers, and anyone seeking to enhance their skills in discerning facts from fakes in the digital realm. Participants with diverse backgrounds and expertise will find valuable insights to bolster their information verification and cyber threat detection capabilities.
