In this session, I’ll share real stories and experiences from hosting eight Lightning Developer Bootcamps in five African countries through Africa Free Routing, with help from Btrust and other partners. I’ll talk about what it was like teaching Lightning to developers in Africa, the challenges we faced, the creative ways we solved them, and what we learned along the way.

You’ll hear how we designed the bootcamps to help both beginners and experienced developers, the Lightning topics people found most difficult, and why it’s important to make technical education fit local cultures and contexts.

We’ll also discuss how we built strong communities, formed partnerships, and scaled developer education across different regions.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a better idea of how to run meaningful Lightning education programs, from planning and teaching to supporting new developers, whether in Africa or anywhere people are just starting to build with Bitcoin.
