Collaborative learning is seen as an interesting area of contemporary academic research aimed at improving knowledge sharing, fostering academic participation, developing teacher-student interaction, and enhancing academic achievement. The purpose of this research is to understand whether collaborative learning has a significant impact on knowledge sharing, academic participation, interactivity, and collective productivity in the academic environment. The quantitative research is based on the primary data for which the instrument was developed after a comprehensive literature study. The population of the study consisted of professionals who are sharing knowledge in a collaborative learning environment with the practices of social media in universities. We were able to collect data from 262 professionals in academic institutions in Pakistan. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) software to check the accuracy of the structural model to know the impact of collaborative learning on the associated factors. The findings disclosed that collaborative learning positively impacts improving academic engagement, collective performance, and knowledge sharing. We also found the impact of academic engagement on interconnectivity and the influence of interconnectivity on collective performance. In addition, the hypothetical findings of knowledge sharing highly impact interconnectivity and collective performance improvement. The study is useful for researchers to know the learning outcomes of university professionals through social networking practices in a collaborative environment.
