Amnesia: What You Need To Remember
2026-01-17 , Mainsail East

A class on hypnotic amnesia that looks at it through the lens of Spanos' notion of hypnosis as "strategic enactment"- in other words, what strategies can someone use to intentionally forget something, either in trance or out of it? This will give us a framework to find ways forward with subjects that have historically had a hard time with amnesia, resulting in a truly forgettable experience.

We'll also talk about:
What do you do when changing metaphors doesn't work?
What are the different types of memory and how can we affect them?
How does hypnotic amnesia actually work in our brains?

Delusioness is a hypnokink educator from the Greater Boston Area who frequently teaches at NH Hypnokink meetups, along with myriad other classes at events throughout the Northeast. Her teaching style focuses on treating memory like the reconstructive process that it is, and teaching people how to think and problem solve, rather than simply memorize. She also believes hypnosis is a type of soup.
