Introduction
A small comprehensive university in the Maritimes formally introduced knowledge synthesis services in 2021. Usage of these services has increased and a project was initiated to assess the alignment of these services with community needs and to identify opportunities for the expansion of services. The main aims of this study are to determine usage of the knowledge synthesis service, involvement of librarians (both at our institution and others) in these publications, and if librarian involvement demonstrates a trend with citation counts.
Methods
A comprehensive search will be conducted to identify English language systematic and scoping reviews published by University affiliated authors. No publication date filter will be used. Data extraction will be completed by a small team of librarians. Specifically, data collection on the level of librarian involvement in the publication (consultant vs. authorship), departmental affiliation, citation counts, and more will be gathered.
Results
Descriptive statistics will be gathered and reported.
