DESCRIPTION:Collapse is coming - or has it already arrived? The infamous f
 ace of collapse constructs a sudden\nworld-ending event which can only be 
 fought by stock-piling beans and ravioli in the cellar (known\nas “prepp
 ing”). In real-life such events do occur - and more frequently so these 
 last decades - with\nincreased natural catastrophes such as floodings (Ger
 man Ahrtal 2021\, Spanish Valencia 2024)\,\nlandslide (Italian Niscemi 202
 6) or wildfires. The lesser known face of collapse\, however\, is slowly\n
 creeping up in different areas of life that might not seem connected: brea
 k down of supply chains for\nlife-saving medicines (AIDS medicine 2025) or
  cancellation of the CSD parade (German Magdeburg\n2025). How to encounter
  this looming doom? The appellative activism for quick political measures
 \nseems to be unfruitful in the political shifting climate of today. In th
 e last years\, a movement has\nemerged which focuses on the social side of
  prepping (“preppa tillsammans” in Sweden\, “solida-\nrisches Preppe
 n” in Germany) that radically accepts the uncertainty of our social\, po
 litical\, and\nenvironmental future. Often framed as losing hope\, this ap
 proach opens opportunity for self-efficacy\nin the immediate local communi
 ty and makes space for a structured analysis of potential crises and\ncomm
 unal preparation.\nIn my research paper\, I investigate how cycling infras
 tructure can contribute from a social prep-\nping perspective: “Mobility
  Prepping”. At CRBAM\, I want to further develop these research questi-
 \nons: What does collapse mean in the transport sector? How can bicycle in
 frastructure contribute in\na non-linear collapse and boost the resilience
  of communities with e-/cargo-bikes? How can we build\nreliable bicycle in
 frastructure for unreliable times? Which wider economic benefit can we del
 iver by\nthis?
