Thomas Weible is the creative brain of FLEXOPTIX. A real rebel who dreams up innovations such as the FLEXBOX. He dives deep into the inner life of optics and loves experimenting on real-life problems with our customers. For more than 16 years he has been part of the internet community and has specialized in optical networking.
Rene Fichtmüller joined Flexoptix in 2018 and is an Evangelical Optician responsible for the strategic market development and customer support. In his current role, he currently looks after the DACH and APAC, NZ, AU and Oceania regions.
With his technical expertise and extensive knowledge in internet technologies, his work involves not only providing technical consultation and selling optical solutions but also educating and assisting his clients in implementing these technologies and conveying complex technical concepts clearly.
Beyond his professional duties at Flexoptix, Rene has a passion for community and knowledge-sharing. He serves the community through voluntary work and is co-founder of the Keep Ukraine Connected Project and Chairman of Global NOG Alliance (GNA) and Sustainability Taskforce- an organization that unites network specialists from around the globe to exchange knowledge, develop best practices, and foster collaboration within the industry.
Rene has mentored and supported the start of new NOGs within Africa and APAC since 2019 and supports community driven internet exchanges. In line with FLEXOPTIX’s core values of supporting and giving back to the community, Rene has played a key role in helping set up fellowships, training workshops, and other events aimed at strengthening and supporting the network engineering community.
