DESCRIPTION:We all use computer chips such as processors\, memory and sens
ors in our daily lives. But how are they created? How did the chip creatio
n process evolve and what future changes can we expect?\n\nThis session ex
plains how computer chips are physically created by some of the most advan
ced machines on the planet. Did you know that these chips\, nowadays\, can
contain more than one hundred million transistors per square millimeter?\
n\nJava software is used everywhere\, also in the process of chip manufact
uring. In my project at ASML we’re working on a relatively new analytics
platform which is used to process the data from the machines. The applica
tion then visualizes the results in order to find issues or improvement ar
eas. This information is used to change the configuration parameters of th
e physical machine in order to create more and better chips. I will explai
n\, on a high level\, how our applications look like and which Java techno
 logies we use.
