strace is a diagnostic, debugging and instructional utility for Linux that is based on the ptrace API.
In this talk the maintainer of strace will describe how the ptrace API is used by strace, how it has been evolving, what kind of features needed by utilities like strace are still missing in the ptrace API, and what might be done in the Linux kernel to address this.
