Although FreeDOS has been around for quite a while (since 1994!), I didn't notice it until recently. What is the purpose of creating an Open Source DOS-compatible operating system? What could be the use case in 2024? Is there still active development of the project? How can it be run using QEMU on current computers? And what are the challenges here?
