Constant Riolo
Constant Riolo is co-founder and analyst at Resilio, with a background in environmental engineering from ETH Zurich and EPFL. He has led numerous life cycle assessments (LCAs) supporting major players in the banking, insurance, and luxury sectors. In 2023, he oversaw the LCA of LVMH Group’s information system as part of a large-scale internal initiative, strengthening his expertise in project management and collective approaches to sustainability.
Through his work with ADEME on collaborative projects such as RCP FAI, Cloud/DC, and audiovisual services, Constant has developed a deep understanding of both the technical and human challenges of large-scale sustainability projects. He brings a rigorous, systemic, and forward-thinking perspective on digital and environmental transformation.

This talk draws from a landmark 2024 study by Resilio, conducted in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), EPFL, Swisscom, SwissICT and many others. It unveils the often-overlooked environmental and strategic impacts of digital technologies in Switzerland. From smartphones and telecom networks to data centers, these infrastructures contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, and resource depletion. As Switzerland becomes a major player in AI and data hosting, this session calls for proactive strategies to mitigate the growing environmental toll of digitalization. Attendees will gain key insights into the study’s findings, policy implications, and potential paths toward a sustainable digital future.
