Join Amanda Savluchinske, a Product Manager at Vinta Software, as she shares insights on navigating the world of product management for techies and tech teams. In this talk, Amanda emphasizes the essentials of what Product Managers truly want from their tech counterparts: a strategic mindset, a passion for problem-solving, and empathy for end users.
Learn practical tips on bridging the gap between technical and non-technical roles, while understanding the nuances of key execution strategies, drawing from industry best practices such as "Inspired", by Marty Cagan. Explore the product lifecycle, delve into metrics, and gain insights into roadmapping, product discovery, and testing.
In this talk, I intend to cover basic product concepts with the goal of sparking engineers' interest in how their work can have a greater impact in their users' lives. In my opinion, everyone in tech should be able to speak a little of their colleagues' language so that we can better collaborate and be more efficient as teams. With that said, I believe any engineers who would like to become more product-minded will benefit from attending as the talk covers the most common topics in that knowledge domain, serving as an introduction to the product world.
Amanda is a Product Manager at Vinta Software. She considers herself to be a hybrid professional, having a background in business and software engineering. Amanda enjoys getting into technical topics, having been a speaker at conferences such as DjangoCon Europe and Python Brasil in the past, but loves discussing the overlap and challenges around technical and non-technical domains. She’s a social introvert with a passion for cooking, writing, video games and (shockingly, based on her history) strength training. Her current goal is to be less chronically online and touch some grass from time to time.
