In 2024-2025, the EDPS run the pilot phase of a Website Compliance Awareness Campaign (WCAC) to provide EU Institutions, Bodies, Offices and Agencies with actionable information about privacy and data protection aspects of their websites. In 2026, the WCAC will continue i a second phase that will expand the campaigns reach.
In 2025, the EDPS made available for all staff working for EU Institutions, Bodies, Offices and Agencies an online version of its Website Evidence Collector (WEC).
The session will highlight the most relevant aspects of the the WCAC and the main features of the WEC Online.
Xabier Lareo is Head of Sector for Technology Monitoring and Foresight at the EDPS Technology and Privacy Unit. He joined the EDPS in 2018, following ten years of experience as a data protection inspector at the Spanish Data Protection Authority.
