DESCRIPTION:Most researchers writing software are not classically trained 
 programmers. Instead\, they learn Python organically\, often developing un
 pythonic habits that negatively impact their software‘s performance.\n\n
 In this talk\, we present a new course on Python profiling and optimisatio
 n. We give an overview of the course contents\, report on feedback from re
 searchers at multiple universities who attended early versions of the cour
 se\, and discuss our plans for developing the course further. Finally\, we
  share how you can run the course at your own institution and contribute t
 o it via the Software Carpentry Incubator program.
