On the importance of leaving
03-18, 14:00–14:30 (Europe/Berlin), Stage 1

"How do I join an open source project?" is an often asked question. "How do I leave it?" is less talked about. It may sound like a weird question, but leaving an organisation - particularly as a leader - is not an easy task. Leaving this question unanswered leads to subtle issues: staying on a post for too long makes others frustrated that are interested in the work. Seeing no way out makes people rage-quit their teams. And finding the right spot to leave brings the greatest pleasures: Seeing a team exceeding your expectations after you stopped working with them is the greatest reward.

This talk is here to empower you to make your final move in an open source project to the benefit of all.
