Paraguay is one of the largest marijuana producers in the Latin America and cannabis cultivation in Paraguay has significant implications for local and international drug markets, enforcement policies, and socio-economic conditions. Given the popularity of digital platforms and videos for information dissemination in the region, this study employs a cyber ethnographic approach to investigate the content related to cannabis cultivation and enforcement available on YouTube, which is used as a research site. The main purpose of this study is to use cyber-ethnography to explore the narratives about cannabis cultivation and enforcement that an individual is likely to encounter on YouTube through keyword searches and algorithmic recommendations. The preliminary findings indicate diverse perspectives and themes in the videos and comments regarding the socio-cultural and regulatory issues on cannabis cultivation in Paraguay.
