In this talk, we will give an annual update on the current diversity and inclusion efforts underway in the community. We will also present stats from Google Analytics showing aggregate country of origin, gender, and age. These stats will help provide additional context for the continued challenge of D&I in the Julia community and will set the stage for the Julia Inclusive BoF session.
D&I continues to be a challenge in technical communities around the world. While the Julia community has done a lot of work trying to address this challenge, the work is very much still ongoing. As part of our commitment to D&I, we have been providing yearly updates on the state of D&I in the Julia community (with a slight focus on gender diversity since we can get those stats from Google Analytics). We hope that this process keeps us accountable to continue to do more to promote equity and inclusion.
Logan is the developer community advocate for the Julia programming language and was formerly the community manager. He is also on the Board of Directors at NumFOCUS and DEFNA. Outside of the Julia community, Logan is a senior technology advocate at PathAI leading ML and OSS advocacy.
