Prosthetic X - Data Donor Register

The Data Donor Register (DaDoR) is being developed as part of the speculative art project Prosthetic X, in which an artificial data organ is created to enable healthy ageing. Since it works on data, it should do so in a responsible way. The DaDoR wants to set a standard for wearable and IoT devices by creating a user-centred terms of service. With the DaDoR we ‘start over’ by rethinking privacy and data sharing from a ‘human-centric point of view’. Co-design with usthe boundaries to make a truly human centric data privacy policy: though our mural, questionnaire, artist talk and real time sessions.

What is the goal and/or outcome of your session?:

Think with us and react https://miro.com/app/board/o9J_lRS4_uU=/

We have also developed a survey to get your insight/ notes on how the Data Donor Register could be developed and with whom. The survey will take 4 minutes: https://forms.gle/MFh3QGZFXrf6Mdcv6

And have a look at the artist talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rT9PfW-9bk&feature=emb_imp_woyt

Thank you and we are looking forward to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after Mozfest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:

The Data Donor Register is work in progress. The session at Mozfest enables us a more international debate and network. We will use the insights of the session and the new established relationships to push for an international collaborative project to develop the legal framework it would take to launch a new form of privacy policy. We hope to achieve at least two things during MozFest: 1) we hope participants will actively engage in co-creating the boundaries and key terms that should be included in the framework. And 2) we hope to meet potential new partners from other countries who are interested in joining our journey towards a universal Data Donor Register framework for data ownership and sharing.

How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session?:

In our setup we will use interactive polling to collect and discuss the reactions of participants to elements of the DaDoR. This way we will always be able to discuss new ideas (coming from the participants in the sessions) and if needed add to the previous ideas from earlier groups. By setting up the session(s) in this manner, we will be able to have thought provoking and inspiring sessions regardless the number of attendees. We will have two moderators from our project, making it possible to have a discussion with all participants, or split up in break out rooms and have high level discussions in smaller groups.
