How do we ensure inclusion and long-term endurance while working on eradicating the sustained violence against our people, movements, and lives? The psychosocial accompaniment approach offers a set of proposals to understand how we can improve the support we provide to our resistance companions, by understanding the particular needs and strengths of our peers and aiding in the development of collective construction towards transformative justice in our practices.
We aim to engage with the participants while sharing our experiences in the Mexican context, we want to build a space that can lead participants to learn how to approach similar experiences or challenges through the exchange of strategies we've come up with while working towards collective care and inclusion in our communities.
We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after Mozfest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:We look forward to engaging with other activists, human rights defenders, and social organizers that may have an interest in understanding and implementing the psychosocial accompaniment approach to justice in their resistance practices. To help with this, we will be using a collaborative document (virtual pad) to keep track of the main issues we will cover during the session and invite the participants to share their thoughts, as well as any contact information if they feel comfortable with a follow-up on sharing specific strategies or even proposing specific collaborations.
How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session?:Of course, the more the merrier, but in this case, it would be also great if we had a small number of participants with which maybe we could open this session to a more horizontal way of sharing and engaging with each other's experiences.
Also, we will be having a collaborative document (virtual pad) to share beyond what can be provided during the session duration, in order to recover any thoughts participants are willing to share and keep track of possible future collaborations.
