Mozilla Festival 2021 (March 8th – 19th, 2021)

The future of podcasting is adaptive, open and data ethical

Imagine being able to craft personalised podcasts which take advantage of data and sensors to wrap the listener in a story. Then imagine being able to do this for many people at once.
This is what we call adaptive podcasting and the best part is its free, open and in this workshop you will be able to create your own at home.

We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after Mozfest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:

The adaptive podcast project will move forward and hopefully with the experiences from the workshop, especially if some get built.

How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session?:

The workshop will start with me explaining and talking about the project, answering Q&A over a hour. Then providing the tools needed to work on the project in peoples own times.
I will then setup check in points a few days apart for Q&As and show & tells. It will allow people to catch up or jump in later.
There will be a final show and tell but everything will be shared together in a Mozfest channel, for people who miss a session or just want to ask a question.

I'm aiming for a funnel of a large people at the start while I'm in broadcast mode, then that will shrink down as the development happens. The final show and tell going to a bigger number of people again. I expect people to help each other during the development stage, meaning more people if needed
