Mozilla Festival 2021 (March 8th – 19th, 2021)

A workshop on uncovering human rights concerns of machine learning APIs

Unfortunately, this session has been cancelled.

What is the goal and/or outcome of your session?:

Our goal is to introduce the idea of Human Rights Impact Assessments as a robust framework to assess ML systems.

We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after Mozfest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:

We will invite participants to produce POTs as a possible strategy to assess human rights impacts, receive their feedback, and finally will publish a short report on our findings and observations and create a GitHub/webpage based on the workshop for other people who are interested in reproducing such workshops and create different POTs based on different human rights scenarios.

How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session?:

The ideal number is 16-20 people in groups of 4 people, however, even with 3 people, we still can create different inputs based on a given human rights scenario.
