A roundtable discussion between Grant for the Web grantees – with participant interaction through Q&A – about the consequences of centralized control over the transfer of value on the web, and how open technology like the proposed Web Monetization Standard and the Interledger Protocol are creating new, more equitable opportunities for creators, publishers, and technologists.
This session can be effective with any number of participants. A small group could create an intimate, unmoderated conversation with our panelists. A medium group could post questions by moderated Q&A. A large group could - technology permitting - split into smaller breakout groups with each of our panelists to deep dive into particular focus areas.
What is the goal and/or outcome of your session?:Attendees will understand more about the potential applications of Web Monetization and the growing ecosystem of creators and technologists who are exploring this emerging area of the open, decentralized web.
We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after Mozfest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:Grant for the Web hosts an active community dedicated to a collective and generative exploration of Web Monetization at community.webmonetization.org. Anyone can join this community (it's free!) and conversations started in our session can naturally continue here, drawing in others and perhaps spawning future collaborations.
