The EU-funded AI4Cities project aims to use a Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) to help cities and regions become carbon neutral. The six cities and regions - Helsinki, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Paris Region, Stavanger and Tallinn - participating in AI4Cities will go through the PCP process to find suppliers that can provide them with AI solutions for mobility and energy related challenges. In doing so, the project will also highlight the value of PCP, an Innovation procurement tool that enables the public sector to steer the development of new, not yet market-ready solutions, directly towards its needs The workshop will explain how the PCP process works, how AI solutions could contribute to a reduction in CO2 emssions and help cities to, and meet their climate commitments, and how AI4Cities has progressed until now.
AI4Cities is still in its opening stages and will last until 2022. The proposed solutions will be tested in the six cities and regions of the project, and will be constantly refined and adjusted throughout the project, Anyone with knowledge about AI, sustainability and urban challenges related to mobility and energy is invited to contribute whenever possible to vaildate the goals of the project and to provide background information related to AI technology and/or the specific needs of the cities.
How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session?:We have already organised several webinars/workshops with a various number of participants. There was always a healthy interaction, even when not that many people attended. The project allows for discussions about AI, innovative procurement, energy, mobility and/or urban sustainability. This wide variety of themes ensures that it is always possible to have an interesting discussion about a topic related to AI4Cities. It would be great if at Mozfest provides us with the opportunity to discuss in more depth the potential of AI, and the challenges related to this new technology.
