Mozilla Festival 2021 (March 8th – 19th, 2021)

Re-awakening sleeping Giants through productive advocacy and effective literacy teaching.

In this session, I would share my success story of raising awareness of Special Learning Difficulties in rural areas in South Western Nigeria. The strategies used to communicate the reality of the gift that comes with neurodiversity and the significant progress recorded within a short time would be shared with the participants. Finally, the challenges and prospects for the future would be discussed with the participants.

What is the goal and/or outcome of your session?:

The goal of my session is to share my story of raising awareness of Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties in Nigeria and the profound impact it's having among my target groups. I believe my story will inspire others to make a change in their community no matter the prevailing challenges they face.

We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after Mozfest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:

The work will continue by staying in touch with the participants and working together in collaboration.

How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session?:

Low turnout will not be a challenge because the content in my session is not number sensitive. However a sizeable number of participants would be an advantage for discussions and contributions on the cross cultural application of the things I share.
