We'll discuss how Tech Against Fascism is leveraging social networks (Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Gab, Parler, Telegram, .win sites, forums, and more) and big data to help fight fascism (and help others do the same). We'll show you how to become a spy against the alt-right, and show you some of the research and outreach we're doing with the data, the future of Tech Against Fascism and how you can help.
I plan on using the feedback I get from this session to plan the next 6 months to 1 year of work on the tracker. Perhaps more importantly, I want to connect with those doing similar anti-fascist and anti-alt-right work so we can collaborate to compound all our efforts.
How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session?:Frankly the only thing that changes with crowd size is how guided the 'Using the Tracker' session is. If' there's only a few, I'll try to make a small group project focused around one particular topic, if it's a larger group they will simply be break out groups, with each doing an independent topic.
What is the goal and/or outcome of your session?:.
