The interdisciplinary Munich Science & Fiction Festival - art and science is a festival series and platform for future caretakers, scientists, artists, utopians and aliens based within the biggest technical museum in the world – The Deutsches Museum. We invite you for a session to our Mozilla Hubs Space Tiki Bar to discuss our experiences and challenges with hybrid events, preparing for the unknown and how our festival attracts and connects many different species from various cultures and planets.
Thanks to our virtual events experiences of the past six month we are very well prepared for the unknown. The only technical foundation we need is a Hubs Server that is able to handle +50 participants (e.g. a AWS t3.large instance we used for the DigAMus Award).
We're hoping that many efforts and discussions will continue after Mozfest. Share any ideas you already have for how to continue the work from your session.:There is no border in digital space – as there is no border in the cosmos. So: How about finding an exhibit on an asteroid? Showing performances in the Moon dust? Dance insoles on the Saturn rings?
In parallel and all access, we provide a virtual version of our festival that can be joined at any time. The format is almost a ‘two-egg, digital Twin'; which is congenial with the analog festival in the Deutsches Museum running. It also serves as a permanent, digital archive of all previous events and is a cluster made out of virtual accessible hubs.
Real spaces and objects merge with abstract visions of the future and offer artists permanent exhibition spaces, as well as places for exchange and for Real-time interaction with the interested audience.
