Explore the hidden forces at work in this world at the Conspiracy Theory Production Studios. Over the course of the workshop, experiment with machine learning tools to explore the hidden ties governing the world we live in and broadcast your insights to the world! As a participant you will collaborate with accessible machine learning solutions like text generators and image processing softwares to cobble together fresh new theories about the conspiracies acting in the shadows.
There's a few threads we hope which can continue post the workshop. The use of easily accessible machine learning algorithms are incredibly useful when discussing the 'ethics of AI', as most conversations revolve around speculative uses, generally inspired from movies and books. It's interesting to explore novel uses of machine learning in day to day activities and start conversations around ethics which are a lot more tangible and accessible. The other thread looks at the role of digital media, memes, and news, along with their relation to new tools such as AI.
How will you deal with varying numbers of participants in your session?:We're quite flexible with the number of participants, since we plan to split up into groups and use Miro, or an etherpad as a creative workspace. Most of the interactions will happen within groups with the facilitators overseeing the activity after the main introduction session. With a smaller group, a more intimate session can be planned out, with the facilitators joining in on the conspiracy creation process, and for the allocation of time toward higher fidelity outputs.
