MozFest 2023, March 20-24
Call for Proposals
Welcome! We are so excited you’re considering proposing a session for MozFest Virtual 2023! Below you’ll find all the info you need to propose a session.
About MozFest Sessions
We welcome sessions on a wide range of topics relevant to Trustworthy AI and the internet health movement. All sessions are conducted online and must be participatory, accessible, and inclusive. You are welcome to submit more than one session proposal.
- A participatory session engages and activates audience members from the start and gets them making and doing, rather than listening and watching.
- An accessible session makes it possible for people with different needs to participate.
- An inclusive session welcomes participants of different ages, experience levels, geographies and disciplines.
Anyone may submit a session proposal for MozFest 2023. You don’t need any particular level of expertise to facilitate a session, as long as you have a great project, idea, or topic. However, if you are under the age of 18 or the age of majority in your country, your parent or guardian must complete the proposal form for you.
More information about the Call for Proposals and answers to frequently asked questions can be found on the MozFest website. To learn more about MozFest in general, as well as some helpful tips on designing a truly great session, the MozFest 101 blog is a great place to start!
Where is MozFest 2023 taking place?
Our main MozFest event in March will take place entirely online using a variety of engaging platforms and mediums all accessed via the MozFest Plaza. While there will be additional MozFest Fringe events and the hyperlocal MozFest House later in 2023, this Call for Proposals is specifically for the virtual event in March.
How does the review process work?
Once the CFP closes on Dec 20th, our community organizers, the Wranglers, will review and select their sessions. The selection process runs until Jan 16th, 2023.
Wranglers look for creative sessions that emphasize participation, accessibility, and inclusion. They also review proposals for clear connections between sessions and their Spaces. Wranglers will share their decisions from January 17th and Facilitators have until January 23rd to confirm their session will take place at MozFest. Wranglers will then begin working with their accepted Facilitators to prepare for MozFest 2023.
Facilitators should keep a keen eye on their inbox, as next steps and further information will be shared using the email addresses used when signing up and submitting their proposal in PreTalx.
This Call for Papers closed on 2022-12-20 18:15 (Europe/Amsterdam).
