Dr. Shachee Doshi is the Acting Team Lead for the Strategy & Research team in the Technology Division of USAID's Bureau for Development, Democracy, and Innovation. Her team investigates the social, technical, and political implications of emerging trends in technology, providing thought leadership and developing evidence-based best practices on the responsible use of emerging technologies in international development and humanitarian assistance. Her portfolio spans artificial intelligence, digital identity systems, blockchain, and other frontier technologies. Shachee received her Ph.D. and postdoctoral training in neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania, studying mechanisms underlying injuries and diseases in the nervous system. After her doctoral training, she shifted her focus to technology policy as a AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow with USAID's Center for Digital Development.
