Gino Fransman

Gino Fransman is the founder and project leader of the Open Education Influencers project (https://openedinfluencers.mandela.ac.za), and an Academic Developer at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa. As a project author in the UNESCO Open Education for a Better World Programme, his highly collaborative open online course for student empowerment and advocacy is titled Becoming an Open Education Influencer (BOEI). BOEI is now freely available for all to use, remix, revise or even remake. He is a member of the OE4BW Advisory Board as well as a mentor to a project author for the course: Peacebuilding in High-Risk Communities in SA. Gino is the most recent winner of the 2021 OEGlobal Emerging Leader Award, which is an "Award granted to an enthusiastic individual displaying promising leadership qualities. Someone whose advocacy and use of open education is inspiring, making them an effective spokesperson.
