Roberto Martinelli
My name is Roberto.
I started working in ICT in the mid-eighties (no mouse yet, believe it or not).
I spent fifteen years working in Geographical Information Systems as a programmer and analyst, putting to work my background in geodesy and geosciences.
In the early 2000s I discovered the world of Public Transportation Systems and since then that’s the focus of my job.
Over the years I’ve worked on:
- Travel-planning applications (back-end systems and web apps)
- Data collection/data quality
- Quantitative analysis of PT networks
- Transit e-ticketing systems (analysis of smart card standards and data models, e-payment models)
Currently I’m leading the development of LiguriaGO, Regione Liguria travel planner aimed at becoming the cornerstone of a broader Regional MaaS platform, including payment systems and micromobility information.
I strongly believe in the importance of adopting data standards on a European scale, both for Public Authorities and Private Agencies.
