In order to develop common code for tax declaration software, the two Swiss Cantons Geneva and Bern have decided that open source is the best way to move forward, allowing for faster development of shared code while still allowing for locally specific code to be developed by each party. In this session we will explore the mechanisms put in place and the impact and benefits they have brought to the project.
