Session
Many of Europe's digital services run on centralized platforms owned by a handful of corporations outside the EU. When those owners change course, users have little say. This talk makes the case for decentralized services that federate through open protocols. It addresses the necessity of these alternatives, and how individuals and institutions can use and support these open ecosystems. We'll dive into real-world examples, from EU-federated codeplatforms, app stores and applications, to ethical social media alternatives.
