DESCRIPTION:What does a healthy digital infrastructure look like and how c
an communities know whether they are truly in control of the technologies
they depend on? Join our "the Community Infrastructure Clinic: From Depend
ency to Digital Sovereignty" hands-on workshop\, facilitated by Marta Andr
eoli and Sofía Aritz\, to learn about Device Neutrality and why it is imp
ortant for digital sovereignty.\n\nParticipants will become “digital inf
rastructure doctors” and work in small groups to diagnose diverse fictio
nal community cases\, using different tools and strategies for it. The ai
m is for them to develop a “treatment plan” by creating a digital infr
astructure prescription: 5–7 principles for a healthy infrastructure usi
 ng Free Software\, open standards\, interoperability\, decentralised and/o
r self-hosted approaches and cooperative governance. \n\nAttendees will le
ave with a practical framework for assessing digital dependencies and a se
t of questions they can apply when evaluating or designing Free Software a
nd decentralised solutions for their own organisations and communities.
