I got a PhD in Cryptology from ENS de Lyon in 2018 and since then worked both in academia and Industry on post-quantum cryptography and fundamental aspects of cryptography. I’m now working on the CryptPad project at XWiki, helping enhancing the cryptography layer used in this end-to-end encrypted collaborative office suite.

CryptPad is an end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) open-source collaborative office suite. It has been developed for more than 10 years at XWiki SAS. Meanwhile, CryptPad evolved from a collaborative text editor to a full-fledged office suite: spreadsheet, word processing, presentations, kanban, diagrams, forms, etc.
To ensure data privacy, CryptPad has been built around cryptography from login to document edition and sharing. While identification is made by deriving keys from the login and the passphrase, E2EE and differentiated per-document keys allow fine-grained access management.
In this talk I will present CryptPad and how it is developed by a FOSS company, the inner working of CryptPad and showcase some situations where CryptPad is a relevant solution.
