Building Digital Commons for Public Sectors
Digital commons are the shared digital resources that modern societies depend on. This session explores how public administrations can embrace open source and the "Public Money, Public Code" principle to build reusable, transparent, and sustainable digital infrastructure.
This presentation explores how open source can transform software from a procurement outcome into a digital common, enabling reuse, transparency, innovation, and long-term sustainability across the public sector. Drawing on European examples such as France's BlueHats community, Germany's Sovereign Tech Fund, and Estonia's open digital government initiatives, we will examine how governments, citizens, companies, and open-source communities can collaborate to create shared digital infrastructure that benefits society as a whole.
I am a Solution and Delivery Architect, specializing in cloud-native architectures, open-source technologies, and digital transformation.
