Oxidize Conference 2025
Apply for a slot at Oxidize Europe 2025
Oxidize is the leading applied Rust conference, bringing together professionals from diverse industries to share how they are leveraging the power of Rust in real-world software development projects.
In previous years, the conference has covered a wide range of topics—from automotive and embedded systems to web development and game design. Some talks take a deeper dive into how Rust's features can be applied to build better, more efficient, more correct software. Let’s continue the tradition and explore even more ways Rust can power the future of software development!
Talks at Oxidize go beyond how to use Rust
We want to show all the ways that Rust is being used in industry settings. How has Rust shaped your production? What technology were you able to develop using Rust? What problems did you solve with Rust? How have you improved people's lives with technologies built on Rust? These are the questions we want answered on stage at Oxidize.
As the organizers of the Oxidize Conference, we also want our conference to represent the diversity we've come to celebrate in the Rust community. We especially encourage people of color, women and members of marginalized communities to apply. We also offer remote support to help speakers overcome stage fright.
A successful submission to Oxidize includes:
- Your name, position, and company.
- An abstract of your talk: Tell us what you want to talk about. This doesn't have to be more than a few sentences. Share some details about the project and how Rust shaped it.
- A bio: Tell us why you're the person to talk about your topic.
- A picture: Optional for the submission but requested if your talk is selected for publication in the agenda. (min 300 dpi)
Some things to keep in mind about speaking at Oxidize:
- Our slots are 30 minutes long, but part of what makes our conference successful is our audience engagement so we appreciate it if you keep your presentation between 20 and 25 minutes.
- The technical expertise in the Oxidize audience varies. Some are expert Rustaceans, some are people who are there to better understand what Rust can do for their organization. While we want some technical aspects in every talk, it's important to share the high-level impact of the implementations you're presenting.
- Speakers will receive one free ticket for Oxidize and one free workshop seat (note: workshop seats are subject to availability)
- No promotional tickets will be made available for colleagues and/or friends of speakers.
- Oxidize does not offer any compensation for travel or accommodation for speakers.
About the selection process:
- Talks are selected based on the quality of the content. To do this, the selection committee reads the proposals without knowing your name or where you work.
- Those selected will be notified by email. Those not selected will also be notified by email because we think that's the courteous way to do things. We appreciate the effort you put into your CfP and the least we can do is send a 'no thank you' in return.
- We reserve the right to hold some slots open for invited speakers.
