Anthony Shaw is a Python advocate at Microsoft from Sydney, Australia. Anthony is a contributor to many open-source communities. Running and contributing to several popular open-source tools for DevOps, Security, Automation and Code Quality. Anthony has been recognised for his contribution to open-source, including as Fellow of the Python Software Foundation and member of the Apache Software Foundation. Anthony runs a Python blog and YouTube channel and has recently published a book, "CPython Internals", on the Python compiler.

Atia Amin is a PhD student at McGill University in the department of Human Genetics where she is working on bioinformatics. She finished her masters program at the University of South Dakota where she performed research on engineering abiotic stress resistant crop plants. Having born and brought up in Bangladesh, Atia is also passionate about popularizing STEM among girls in Bangladesh and other developing countries.

Hello I am Carl, a professional with experience as a researcher, data engineer & analyst mostly working on problems and applications of geospatial and career-related text data for more than 3 years now.

I also recently graduated with my undergraduate degree in Computer Science and doing work on applications of Segment Anything on geospatial data under the Fatima Fellowship Program.

I also contribute to open source initiatives I feel interesting such as increasing language representation through the Aya Initiative and contributing to the Python user base through Python related Events such as WFH Pythonista and Pycon!

Sau Yee is a software engineer based in Tokyo, Japan. She has a passion for maps. She ran her first full marathon in Nov 2022, and plan to do it again in 2023. She is also intrigued by humans who do illogical things.

Before working in Developer Relations, Cheuk has been a Data Scientist in various companies which demands high numerical and programmatical skills, especially in Python. To follow her passion for the tech community, Cheuk is now the Developer Advocate at Anaconda. Cheuk also contributes to multiple Open Source libraries like Hypothesis and Pandas.

Haque Ishfaq is a PhD student at McGill University and Mila - Quebec AI Institute. His research interests span machine learning, statistical learning theory, reinforcement learning and bandits. Before moving to Montreal, he enjoyed several years of sunny weather at Stanford University where he completed his bachelors degree in mathematical and computational science as a McCaw Scholar and masters degree in statistics.

Harsh is an engineer at LocalStack working at improving the developer experience of engineers developing/testing cloud applications on AWS. He is also an AWS Community Builder in the Serverless category and has previously worked at Red Hat, HackerRank, and Quansight! He is deeply passionate about cloud & serverless development, including DevOps, practises, Web engineering, and using technology to mitigate climate change.

Dr Ifti joined the High-Speed Aerodynamics and Propulsion Lab at the University of Maryland, USA, in April 2022. Originally from Mymensingh, Bangladesh, he earned his DPhil in Engineering Science (Hypersonics) from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. For the scientific contributions in his doctoral thesis entitle, “Transpiration Cooling of a Hypersonic Vehicle,” he won the 2022 UK Doctoral Researcher Award (2nd Prize, Engineering), in a UK-wide academic competition that is awarded annually to junior researchers with promise to be amongst the world class academics of the future. Dr Ifti holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.

Sami is a healthcare professional and digital health designer currently reading for a doctoral degree, DPhil in Primary Health Care, at the University of Oxford. His research looks at the characteristics and mechanisms of using human centred AI design to address multiple long-term conditions (multimorbidities) at the intersection of the digital transformation in healthcare.
Previously, he worked as a Research Fellow at the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité University Hospital Berlin with the Core Interoperability Unit. Prior to that he worked as a Healthcare Researcher with the WHO and the Medical Faculty of Maastricht University, on a project related to SDG 3 – resulting in the WHO Community Engagement Health Promotion Guide.
With his background in healthcare and digital health, his areas of research interests are in medical AI Ethics, explainable AI, health design innovation, patient data privacy, digital health regulation, and the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare systems.
Sami has researched on 3D printing for personalised medicine and has recently developed the Healthcare Differential Privacy Framework to make privacy-preserving data sharing viable for medical research and machine learning. Sami has also worked at Apple Inc. for 8 years in different roles ranging from sales and product development to training new employees and designing company-internal solutions.

Joongi is the creator of Backend.AI and the CTO of Lablup, where he oversees the development of MLOps pipelines and GPU-accelerated AI services. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from KAIST by creating a GPU-accelerated packet processing framework with world-leading speed of 80 Gbps. His major areas of interest include scalable and automated backend systems, as well as their analysis and design. Prashant is a Senior ML Engineer at Mercari, primarily working on making customer support operations efficient in a data-driven way. He has led the development of several AI-powered features that have improved the average handling time and transfer rate of the customer support operations at Mercari. Although he is good at working with production ML systems, allegedly, some say he is way better at making pour-over coffee.

Samara Sharmeen is a resident neurosurgeon working in Berlin, and a PhD candidate at the RWTH Aachen University. Her current research is on prognostic clinical outcome and 3D-CT volumetric planning before conventional complex two-stage haepatectomy versus Associating Liver Partition and Portal vein Ligation for Staged haepatectomy – ALPPS. Samara is interested in use of emerging technologies to aid clinical decision making. She has been collaborating in digital health projects since 2019, attending PyCon and PyConJP, and continues to create awareness of Python to her clinical peers. Furthermore, Samara has worked at Apple Inc. for over 5 years as a Product Specialist.
