PyCon APAC 2023

About the PyCon APAC 2023 CfP

PyCon JP, the largest Python conference held annually in Japan, will be held this year as PyCon APAC 2023, a Python conference for the Asia-Pacific region.

Date: October 26-29, 2023
Venue: TOC Ariake Convention Hall, Tokyo

This year’s event theme is as follows:

  • To provide an opportunity for beginners to learn more about Python
  • To help people understand the differences between Python and other programming languages
  • To widely convey to the general public how Python is actually used in various situations

Type of presentation

The types of presentations are as follows. English and Japanese allowed.

  • Regular presentation (30min or 15min)
  • Lightning Talks (5min) English will be given priority
  • Poster Session
  • Tutorial

How to apply

There are 3 steps to apply:

  1. Fill out the proposal form in English or Japanese.
  2. Login to Pretalx.
  3. Click submit button (You can make changes during the application period).
  • You can write in Markdown.
  • Notes will not be reviewed.
  • Please switch between Japanese and English using the language switch link at the top right of the CfP page.

Important dates

  • Submission Opens: 2023-04-22
  • Submission Closes: May 31st Anywhere in Earth
  • Acceptance/Rejection Notification: Early July(TBD)

Please note - Although Pretalx allows you to submit or change your talk proposals even after the deadline, you will be disqualified from consideration on PyCon APAC 2023.

Information

  • If you are submitting multiple proposals, please submit a separate proposal for each one.
  • The information in the proposal will be made available to reviewers. For accepted talks, the information will also be made available to general participants on the PyCon APAC 2023 website.
  • You do not have to use your real name for Name. It is not intended to be made available to reviewers, but staff may refer to it.
  • Name and Biography will be made available to general participants on the PyCon APAC 2023 website after acceptance.
  • PyCon APAC 2023 has a support system for remote participants to help with travel and accommodation expenses. Details will be announced on our blog at a later date.
  • Agreement on exclusion of anti-social forces
  • Anti-social forces: refers to organized crime groups, members of organized crime groups, quasi-members of organized crime groups, companies affiliated with organized crime groups, sokaiya (corporate extortionists), etc., social movement activists or special intelligence violent groups, etc.
  • Presenters and companies/organizations applying for participation promise that they are not anti-social forces and have no relationship with anti-social forces.
